Dr. Blackstien graduated from the New England College of Optometry in 1998. His studies included specialized training in pediatric optometry and ocular disease in Boston and Miami. Dr. Blackstien works with patients of all ages to provide comprehensive family eye care. He has extensive experience with laser vision correction procedures as he has worked closely in clinics with some of Toronto’s best Lasik surgeons. Dr. Blackstien has a passion for educating patients about the prevention and management of eye and vision disorders.

Following graduation, Dr.Talsky joined the practice of Dr. Tepperman and Associates, of which she is still a part of today. She has always had a special interest in contact lens fitting and management, and continues to stay on the cutting edge of new contact lens technologies.

Dr.Talsky also provides a wide range of optometric services including general oculo-visual assessments, early diagnosis and monitoring of many eye diseases, and enjoys treating children and adolescents as part of her wide scope of practice. She has recently concluded a 100 hour complete ocular pharmacology course and exam at Nova Southeastern University in South Florida, in anticipation of the new legislation which will allow optometrists with this qualification to begin prescribing drugs for numerous eye infections and disease.

Outside of the office, Dr. Talsky is an avid cook, fitness advocate who loves running, pilates and circuit training, and the mother of three teenage daughters. Her positive outlook and energy is reflected in both her professional and personal life.

Dr. Tepperman has been practicing optometry in Toronto since his graduation from University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 1985. He has dedicated his professional career to providing the very best in primary eye care to his patients. His location has always been at the corner of Bay and Bloor where he has established an exceptional reputation for his clinical excellence.

He has been an industry leader in the fitting and dispensing of contact lenses. In addition to patient care, he has served in an advisory capacity as a key opinion leader for many of the major contact lens manufacturers. As well he has taken part in numerous contact lens studies as a clinical investigator. Dr. Tepperman has taught graduating optometry students in the contact lens clinic at the University of Waterloo. He continues to mentor and share ideas with younger practitioners by lecturing in the areas of contact lenses and practice building. When he is not dedicating his time to his work, he is spending it with his wife Beverly and their two children Jesse and Katie. He enjoys athletics and attempts to stay fit by playing hockey and golf whenever possible.

Dr. Jodi Kaplovitch excels in optometric service as a primary care provider: eye exams, prescriptions, contact lenses, evaluation and screening for ocular diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and cataracts. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts while maintaining status in the international Optometric Honours Society, BSK, for high academic achievement. Dr. Kaplovitch completed her training at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida and is a certified optometrist in both Canada and the United States. She has bilingual certification in Spanish from the University of Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain and welcomes new patients of all ages.
